Moštvo Minnesota Timberwolves naj bi v ekipo pripeljalo veterana s štirinajstletnimi izkušnjami v ligi NBA Tayshauna Princea (206 cm, 1980). Volkovi naj bi s košarkarjem podpisali enoletno pogodbo, po kateri bo Prince dobival veteranski minimum.

Prince je s trenerjem Minnesote Filipom Saundersem sodeloval že pri Detroitu, zaradi izkušenj, ki jih lahko prenese na mlade volkove pa si ga je Saunders zaželel tudi v Minnesoti. Prince je v lanski sezoni igral kar za tri moštva (Detroit, Boston in Memphis), na 58 tekmah pa je v povprečju dosegel 7.5 točke.
